Every woman has a pair of favorite jeans that she loves to wear with just about everything. It’s the pair that fits her just right and highlights all her curves.  Mines are the high-waisted stretch skinny jeans from H&M.

Usually, when I buy jeans, I have to take them to the tailor to get them altered at the bottom because I don’t like any extra slack in my jeans but, with these, they fit perfectly at the ankle. Reason number one why they’re my favorite jeans.

Another reason why I LOVE these jeans is because of the price. I caught them on sale for only $7.00 so I bought a total of 3. This color and the blue denim wash was the only two that were on sale. They didn’t come with the slits on the knees I created those myself. With the denim blue style, I have a slit and non-slit pair. I wanted to get one more in this wash since I knew I was going to slit them at the knee but these were the last pair in my size (25).

Finding the right jeans that fit your body type doesn’t have to be expensive. As long as it fits your budget and body type that’s all that matters.

Since the wash is a smoke grey color, I decided to style it with a greyish black leather and tweed blazer also from H&M. Of course, I’ll show you plenty more ways you can wear both the jeans and the blazer. It’s important to maximize your pieces simply by styling them with other wardrobe staples. I completed my look with a burgundy fedora from Classy Closet and burgundy-structured handbag from H&M.

Jeans are a must-have because you can dress them up with a blazer like I’m wearing here or dress them down with a t-shirt and sneakers. Like I always say, it’s not what you wear but how you wear it. If you’re like me and love to dress up while flying, this is a great airport look that you can also wear to dinner with friends.  Be sure to always incorporate your personal style into everything you wear. It’s what makes you, you!!!

There’s a wardrobe staple that every woman must own and that’s a Little Black Dress. An LBD looks great on all body types and it’s very easy to accessorize. When shopping for a Little Black Dress you don’t have to spend a whole lot of money to look like a million bucks.

There’s a wardrobe staple that every woman must own, and that’s a Little Black Dress also known as (LBD). An LBD looks great on all body types and it’s very easy to accessorize. When shopping for a Little Black Dress you don’t have to spend a whole lot of money to look like a million bucks.

I purchased this one from Forever 21 for only $14.90 and it’s one of the best LBD’s I’ve ever owned. It’s a spandex material that fits my curves perfectly and the length is just right for my height.

LBD’S are so timeless it’s something you can wear within the next ten years and still look stylish. Along with it being a timeless piece, it’s also a style that would fit just about any occasion such as a job interview, funeral, wedding or date night.

One of the best things about an LBD is, you’re able to dress it up like I did here with pearls and an eye-catching shoe or you can dress it down with a pair of flats and a denim jacket. The styling options are unlimited. Just have fun and be sure to incorporate your personal style into your Little Black Dress.

Ladies, be sure to add a Little Black Dress to your wardrobe!

How To Elevate Your Look With The Right Shoe

Last year, I went to an event and won a free pair of shoes from ShoeDazzle. I was so excited because I shop with ShoeDazzle all the time and to be chosen as the winner of a FREE pair made my heart smile!

I received a credit towards any pair of my choice and after browsing the site for a few days, I finally decided on the Betty by Madison Pumps.

Last year, I went to an event and won a free pair of shoes from ShoeDazzle. I was so excited because I shop with ShoeDazzle all the time and to be chosen as the winner of a FREE pair of shoes made my heart smile!

I received a credit towards any pair of my choice and after browsing the site for a few days, I finally decided on the Betty by Madison Pumps. I love when a pair of shoes have that sexy wow factor and the oversized bow was it for me.

What woman wouldn’t love to receive free shoes especially from a brand she’s totally obsessed with? I mean you can’t beat having a mean pair of shoes in your closet for only $39.95. That’s like unheard of but that’s why I love Shoedazzle and Just Fab!!! I can look stylish without breaking the bank and for me, that’s important because I always believed that you don’t have to spend your entire savings just to look fabulous. It’s all about having confidence and investing in the right key pieces that can be worn at least three or more different ways. I’ll show you how to get the most out of a fabulous pair of $39.95 shoes.

Here’s how I styled the Betty by Madison pumps:

I kept my ensemble really simple with a black crop top from Forever 21 and a black midi pencil skirt from H&M. I also kept my look very on brand and classy by adding a three-layer pearl necklace and a few pearl bracelets. Very Sexy and Classy.

I completed my look with a red lip, pearl earrings, and simple gold midi rings.  I added lavender nail polish to my manicure because I always believe in a pop of color that’s not your traditional matchy-matchy look.

Tip: When styling a look, wear at least one statement item. In this case, my statement item is the Betty by Madison pumps.

The right shoe can definitely elevate your look. I always receive so many compliments every time I decide to pull these out. They are the sexiest pair of shoes I own. With the oversized bow and polka-dot floral print combine, this shoe is definitely an eye-catching style.

Ladies, there’s more in stock, shop: Shoedazzle.

What You Must Know When Finding Your Personal Style

When it comes to personal style, it’s all about knowing yourself, what items work for your body type, what colors look great on your skin tone and your lifestyle.

If you’re having trouble with finding your personal style, think about a person whose style you admire. Figure out what you love about their style and implement it into your personal style.

When it comes to personal style, it’s all about knowing yourself, what items work for your body type, what colors look great on your skin tone and your lifestyle.

If you’re having trouble finding your personal style, think about a person whose style you admire. Figure out what you love about their style and implement it into your personal style. It’s totally fine to be inspired by someone but never copy his or her entire look because that’s not being true to who you are.

Finding your personal style doesn’t have to be expensive. Here’s a complete price break down of my look:

Blue Blouse: $20 from H&M.

Flared Skirt: On sale for $9.99 at Forever 21.

Pumps: $28 Lola Shoetique

Handbag: $40 from H&M

Fur Jacket: On Sale for $40 from a boutique in New Orleans on Magazine St.

This entire look was less than $140. The secret is to invest in key pieces. You don’t have to spend a lot to look & feel fabulous.

Tip: Before purchasing an item you should be able to think of at least 3 different ways it can be worn.

The cream fur jacket can be worn dressed up like I’m wearing here or dressed down with a pair of jeans, pumps and a handbag. Flare skirt can be worn with a denim top and a pair of flats for more of a chill relaxed look & the blue blouse can go with just about any bottom from slacks to jeans. It’s all about remixing your pieces and maximizing your wardrobe.

This is a great look to wear to Sunday brunch after church or to a fashion show. The styling options are unlimited. Stay tuned to see how I elevated this look just by adding a few key pieces.

How To Style A Statement Necklace

Tip: Best way to style a statement necklace: Wear with solid colors so your necklace can make a statement. It’s your stand out accessory!

Styling black with pearls is definitely a classic and you can never go wrong with either.  Just research Coco Chanel!

Styling black with pearls is definitely a classic and you can never go wrong with either.  Just research Coco Chanel!

This is a great look to wear to a holiday party because the sequin leggings scream “Heyyyyy I have arrived!!!” You can also wear this look to a creative business meeting because the cape blazer gives off a stylish business vibe. The lists of places are endless. Just make sure you own it by adding your personal style to complete the look. I wore this to church while visiting family in New Orleans but will definitely remix the blazer with a pencil skirt and add gold accessories while attending a fashion event here in Los Angeles. This is definitely a style you can wear to any type of stylish event.

I’ve always been on the fence about styling nude & black together but since I purchased these nude pumps, they’ve definitely been my go-to shoe. Therefore, I decided to give them a try with this look. After wearing this, I’m no longer on the fence about styling nude and black together but what really enhanced this style is the statement pearl and peach necklace. There’s so much power in a statement necklace. As you can see here, a statement necklace can take your look from 0 to 100! It ties everything in and gives it a complete color balance.

Speaking of color balance; my hair, lips, and handbag really flow and this wasn’t planned at all. This structured satchel handbag from H&M has been my go to because of the style and the color.  It’s so roomy with lots of compartments & it’s the perfect burgundy color that’s always stylish during the fall/winter seasons. Since I knew this bag was going to be in heavy rotation, I decided to purchase a lip color to match. I’m wearing Cabaret Blend by Milani. Now, on to my hair color, this wasn’t something planned at all. I was just over black hair and needed a vibrant color along with my signature haircut so I changed my hair color to burgundy and that’s how everything flowed into place. Sometimes when you know exactly what you want and don’t over think things, everything flows.

And to add the finishing touches, I’m wearing hot pink nails! I’m the type of woman who loves to wear random pops of color, especially on my nails. Very seldom will my nails and entire ensemble match. I enjoy stepping out of the box and not playing it safe when it comes to my personal style.

If you only had the cape blazer and sequin leggings to work with, how can you add your personal style to this look? How would you accessorize and what color balance would you try? Let me know under this picture on Instagram @ParisHatcher or Tweet me @ParisMHatcher. I’m excited to hear all your styling ideas!!

I’m Back In My Mom’s Closet Again Mixing Stripes & Leopard!

DSCN2513

One of my favorite places to shop is inside my mother’s closet. She has some of the best vintage items that she has managed to save all these years, just for me. This black and cream stripe traditional style blazer is a match to a skirt I’ve worn on the blog, which can be worn dressed up or down. Check out how I styled the matching skirt here and here.

DSCN2517

You all know I’m a huge fan of mixing prints and I love to take a risk when it comes to styling so of course, I had to pair the stripes with my leopard and gold ankle strap Steve Madden sandals.

DSCN2520

Red, Leopard & Gold = Classic. But speaking of classic, I believe I’ll keep this Brahmin bag around for my daughter. Satchel style handbags are one of my favorites they’re not too big but big enough to carry all my necessities.

DSCN2512

Have you shopped in your mom’s closet lately? Are you having fun with mixing prints? If so, tell me all about it in the comment section & be sure to add a link to your blog if you have one. I’m looking for more blogs to add to my reading list! 😉

9 to 5 Chic: Animal Print Blouse & Metallic Pumps

When getting dressed for your 9 to 5 (if you aren’t required to wear a uniform) one should not play it safe. I believe when you look good, you feel good. Granted, you’ll have a dress code depending on your place of employment but that shouldn’t stop you from adding your personal style and a bit of your personality into your work attire.

DSCN2400

Step away from the solid tops and style an animal print blouse with a solid bottom.

I added metallic pumps because black pumps are so expected with work attire.

I’m all about figuring out your purpose in life and following your passion but dreams don’t work unless you do, so if you have to jump back in the workforce or take side jobs to pay the bills while working on your dreams, there’s nothing wrong with that. Be sure to write your goals and your “why” as to why you’re choosing to go back in the workforce. So when times get tough while on the job (because it will) you’ll have a reason to stick it out.

Your 9 to 5 attire should be all about remixing pieces & wearing things differently.

Next time I wear this blouse I’ll wear it with a pair of slacks and the next time I wear this ruffle pencil skirt I’ll style it with a bold color cardigan.

Have fun with fashion. There are no rules when you’re confident!

Curly Hairstyle, Bold Statement Necklace & Vintage Skirt.

I’m having so much fun with this hairstyle. On last week, I decided to add a few curly pieces to the side for more of an edgier look. It’s so convenient and saves me lots of time while getting dressed in the morning. The most I’d do to it is spray Luster’s PINK Glosser to the curly hair and I’m done.

DSCN2374

While looking for a style I would like to wear on a particular day, I start with an item I’m interested in wearing then, I’d style everything else around that particular item. On Sunday, I REALLY wanted to wear this colorful statement necklace I purchased from Baggage Boutique. I love bold, colorful, statement accessories so this necklace was perfect to add to my collection.

DSCN2373

With my statement necklace in mind, I decided to remix my mom’s vintage skirt with a light fabric coral color blazer from Langford Market, a baby blue camisole from Forever 21, my favorite Steve Madden floral print sandals and the green envy handbag from Fashunc.

DSCN2351

I kept my other accessories very simple with a pair of Michael Kors earrings with the matching watch and a statement ring from Forever 21.

DSCN2370

I just love the ruffle layers on this skirt. During the full season, I’ll wear it with the matching jacket. It also has ruffle layers along with bold shoulders…TOO FAB!!

I wore this skirt for the first time on the blog here. The styling options are endless.

My mom still amazes me when she randomly pulls out the stylish vintage items she saved all these years, just for me. I’ll definitely try to do the same for my little girl.

{Video} What to Wear to Essence Festival

Sorry for the lack of post, lately! I’ve been a busy woman trying to accomplish my dreams one day at a time 😉 But never the less, I’m back & speaking of accomplishing dreams, I was blessed with the opportunity to film my very first fashion segment on WGNO ABC 26 “News With A Twist.” The segment was about “What to Wear to Essence Festival.” This was a dream come true because actually, it’s a dream job of mines. I have a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and of course I love to talk about fashion, beauty & style & over the years I’ve decided to spread my love around by starting this fashion blog, my online women’s boutique, Classy Closet, fashion writer for NOLA Nights Magazine and my fashion radio talk show Style & Beauty Talk With Paris. Therefore, earning the opportunity to put my graduate school skills to use and speaking about fashion was one of the many highlights I’ve had this year. It’s a humbling feeling when you start to see the fruits of your labor paying off. However, I do have ways to go and more networks to appear on so this is only the beginning of many more dreams coming true.

I apologize for the video quality. If you’d like to watch a clear vision please feel free to click here.

I am head over heels about my new hairstyle. It’s very convenient and I’m excited my hairstylist convinced me to step outside the box and try something new.

DSCN2335

I’ve been working so hard lately (as I always do) so on this day, I decided to start my day off by running a few errands and afterwards, I went to the movies to see Think Like A Man Too and it was hilarious! Did any of my Sexy Meets Classy readers get a chance to check it out?

DSCN2332

I wore one of my favorites tops from Classy Closet. It’s from last season and it sold out really quickly the bow on the back of this Peplum style top just adds all the finishing girlie touches.

DSCN2341

DSCN2338

I decided to style it with a pair of white pants from H&M and a Classy Closet handbag along with the statement necklace and heels that goes perfectly with just about everything this season.

DSCN2329

One day I’ll let those two go but no time soon. They’re my new favs; have you read my post about them?! If not, check it out here.
