Think about all the good pieces you own in your closet. Now, think about how many ways you can style those pieces. Us as women (me in particular) are always talking about how we need to go shopping or need a new wardrobe when half the time we have a closet full of clothes but are only wearing those good pieces one way. We can do so much with what we have but at times we don’t see it because we aren’t stepping outside our comfort zones and styling things differently. Some of my clients tell me that they only feel comfortable wearing a certain pair of jeans with a certain blazer when in fact; you can get many different styles out of a blazer and a pair of jeans. So ladies, let’s get in our closets and play dress up. Step outside of your comfort zone and wear denim and leather, mix animal prints, and don’t forget to color block and accessorize.
Remix those good pieces!!!! 😉

I love remixing my pieces and creating different looks. There are so many styles you can get out of just one statement or simple item you own in your wardrobe; its all about creativity & confidence. You can remix pieces by adding different bottoms, as I did here, you can add a blazer for more of a sophisticated look and you can layer your pieces. The opportunities are endless when it comes to maximizing your wardrobe.
If you have a certain item in your wardrobe and you’d like to get more use out of it but just not sure how, please email me so we can have a style chat. Send to: firstname.lastname@example.org
When going for a business professional style, blazers and pencil skirts has always been my go-to style. Both are easy transitional pieces that could be dressed up or down. I love to added pops of color and creativity to my looks so I added a fun coral color blazer along with a brooch to add a more bold statement to what would’ve been just a blazer and a pencil skirt.
Have fun with your looks!!! It’s okay to add color and statement pieces, get creative and wear everything with confidence and a smile.

This past weekend my mom and I went shopping in one of our favorite accessory stores, Charming Charlie and I came across a few pamphlets from the Editor of Lucky magazine
with tips on how to layer necklaces and bracelets. I thought this would be great to share with my readers so check out the tips below!!
Necklaces: How to layer
1. Start with a 16 to 18-inch necklace to frame your face. It can be any material but should have a little color or sparkle because it’s the first thing people notice
2. Think of your middle pieces (20 to 30 inches long) as more foundational. Keep them thin (but not too thin or they’ll tangle) and simple so they don’t compete with the shortest or longest of the bunch.
3. The longest piece (33 to 36 inches; ideally no lower than your waistline) should also make the biggest statement. A pendant or heavier chain anchors the whole mix.
Bracelets: How to layer
1. Start with your thickest piece, whether a cuff, bracelet or bangle.
2. To keep the look light, choose additional pieces under an inch wide. Try a watch or a triple-wrapped necklace. If it fits on your wrist, it’s a fair game.
3. Add a wildcard element: punky spikes, colorful sparkles. Leather in any for-a wrap, watchband, or cuff-adds a classic touch.
4. Finish it off with smaller pieces like delicate bangles or something a dangling charm.
♥ I love to try different looks and mixing prints just so happen to be one of my favs. It’s a very bold style that’s easy to achieve. First, if it’s your first time wearing mixed prints, the easiest way to step into this risk-taking style is by mixing animal prints. You can never go wrong with animal prints and they’re both in the same fashion family. Secondly, go with a print that has at least one of the same colors in each piece. Such as I did here, I have black in my top as well as my skirt and I paired the same color shoes as one of the colors in my top for a more balanced look. Lastly, mixing prints is one of the chicest looks you can make your own. Just follow those two previous steps, have fun while styling and don’t forget confidence and a smile! Own YOUR look!!
Oh, I also changed up my hair, again 😉 I’m back short and loving it! 😉

♥ I am a huge fan of People Style Watch Magazine because I love how you can find amazing clothing, accessories, and beauty at every price. PSWM gives fashion scoop and ways to shop smarter, but one of my favorite columns would be the “I really love my…” It’s a section where you’d see celebs making the most of their favorite pieces. Yes, that’s right! Celebs remix pieces too. Therefore, I decided to start my own section of I Really Love My… Every week I’ll be posting how I made the most of my favorite pieces, starting with my distressed jeans purchased from Wal-Mart.
These are one of my favorite go-to jeans because of the fit and the edgy-ness it adds to everything I style it with. I purchased these jeans almost four years ago when Miley Cyrus by Max Azria had her line in Wal-Mart. Immediately after purchasing I brought them to my tailor to take them up at the ankle because I’m only 4’10 and I don’t like the extra slack at the bottom of my jeans. However, I should’ve taken a pair of heels with me because she cut them too short. So I immediately thought to myself how I could turn this negative into a positive and I did that by cuffing them each time I’d wear them without boots so no one could tell the mistake my tailor-made. It worked and I’ve been wearing them this way ever since…. I really LOVE my, Distressed Jeans.

♥ Thank you so much to the Langford Market staff for giving me the opportunity to host a DIY & styling session at their beautiful boutique. I really appreciate the opportunity and can’t wait to host more events there in the near future.
♥ This event was such a success and I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who came from all over to receive fashion tips, watch me style live window models & learned how to tie turbans. We had a fabulous time discussing fashion, networking, and sipping on champagne. After the event, a few of my dolls and I went over to rock and sock to have sushi and discuss our future endeavors.
♥ I wore this fabulous strapless lace and white dress from Classy Closet along with a pair of Calvin Klein hot pink ankle strap sandals, my multi cross necklace is from Baggage Boutique and for my Mani and Pedi I went for a bold lime green by Pure Ice called Electric.

♥ If you’re in the New Orleans area on tomorrow, Sunday July 14, 2013 please feel free to join me and a bunch of other fabulous ladies at Langford Market 2131 Magazine St.
Come out and see how I style the live window models and a DIY session. Delicious sweets and champagne will be served as well. Be sure to bring a friend along.
Can’t wait to see you there!
For a quick on the go outfit pair a cami and jeans with a few accessories. Your scarf doesn’t necessarily have to match anything you’re wearing, it can simply be your pop of color piece especially if you’re wearing a white top.
♥ I wore this outfit to a sip and shop on Sunday and it was perfect for the event. I didn’t want to dress up too much but I stilled wanted to be stylish.
♥ My handbag is one of my latest thriftied gifts. I saw my cousin wearing one and I couldn’t stop admiring it. So, she purchased one for me and I love it! Since sporting this handbag around the city, I’ve been receiving so many compliments on it. A lot of older women have told me they’ve owned a few basket handbags back in their days. Even my mom told me she use to own one. I love vintage items that people rarely wear nowadays, so no wonder I was attracted to this fab bag! One of my favorite things about this bag is, there’s a mirror on the inside that is attached to the top, which is so convenient for me!!
